Around 1330 the Rescue was dispatched to assist Refton Fire Company in the 1200 blk Beaver Valley Pike for an accident with reported entrapment . Upon response the County Communications Center reported 2 vehicles with people possibly trapped, one person in each vehicle. The Rescue and Engine 501 arrived to confirm the report of vehicles involved with the drivers trapped in both vehicles. The crews from Willow Street and Refton went to work freeing both drivers of the vehicles. Crews worked about 20 mins to free both drivers and they were transported to the local hospital. The roadway was shut down for over an hour due to the large debris field and fluids from the vehicles that needed cleaned up. Squad 502 and Fire Police from several surrounding fire companies were called to close down Beaver Valley Pike ( Route 222) till the roadway could be opened. Chied 59 ( Hicks) had the command.
