The company handled 3 calls during the day today; Two first due fires, and an accident with entrapment assisting Station 60. The first call came in at 1311 for the reported mobile home fire on Forest Ln in Providence. It was an exterior fire that was extinguished by bystanders prior to arrival. The Engine crew checked for extension and wet down the area before clearing. We were assisted by Rawlinsville, Quarryville, and Refton fire companies. The second call at around 1525 was for the crash with entrapment assisting West Willow. Units arrived to find a 2 vehicle accident with one of the drivers pinned under the dash. After removing the roof and doors, and lifting the dash, the patient was extricated. As the Rescue was clearing the scene, the Pre-Alert sounded for the dwelling on Dennis Dr in Providence. Engine 60 and the Rescue responded straight from the crash and arrived within 5 minutes of dispatch. Crews had smoke coming from the attic but were unable to locate any fire at first. After searching, an area of burnt insulation and electrical equipment was found. A small fire was extinguished and a lengthy overhaul began. The company cleared after ventilation, removing the burnt insulation, and making sure there was no more extension to the rest of the house. We were assisted by West Willow, Rawlinsville, Quarryville, and Refton Fire Companies.
